The origin of the hot springs
This land is called Ugaidani, and long ago cormorants to use for sweetfish fishing were bred here.
The water which flows out here not only cured the injuries and ailments of the cormorants, but are traditionally said to have also been prized as healing waters for men and women of all ages.
This legend was used as a hint for the development of the hot spring, and due to the high potential for hot springs to flow out here geologically as well due to the high geothermal heat of the volcanic plateau as well, excavation was begun in May 1993, with the hot spring source being discovered 1,500m underground in August of the same year.
The hot spring volume is 150 tons per day, and it is a simple alkaline hot spring with a PH of 9.5 and a temperature of 40 degrees, which is rare in Okayama prefecture. The hot spring water includes sulfur content, making it good for beauty and said to be especially effective against nerve pain, joint pain, muscle pain, etc.
Romance buried in the abyss of the past has been resurrected here.
